1. Who we are

WheelBazar ("we", "us", "our") operates the WheelBazar website at wheelbazar.com and the WheelBazar mobile application. We are a hyperlocal marketplace for buying and selling items within the UAE. This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through our platform.

2. Data we collect

Account data

Phone number (used as your account identifier and for SMS verification). Optionally: display name.

Listing data

Titles, descriptions, prices, location details (city, area, building name if you choose to share it), and photos you upload to listings.

Location data

Approximate location (city and area) when you post a listing. We do not continuously track your device location.

Activity data

Searches, listing views, offers made or received, contact events (WhatsApp or phone reveals), reports submitted, and notification interactions.

Device and technical data

Device type, operating system, app version, push notification token, and error logs. IP address and browser details when you use the website.

3. How we use your data

  • Authenticate your account and send OTP codes via SMS.
  • Display your listings to other users and power search results.
  • Send push notifications for offers, messages, and listing updates.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and policy violations.
  • Improve platform reliability through error monitoring and analytics.
  • Respond to support requests and account deletion requests.

4. How we share your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as follows:

  • Other users: When you contact a seller or a buyer contacts you, your phone number is shared with that specific user to enable the conversation.
  • Firebase (Google): Used for phone-number authentication and push notifications. Google's privacy policy applies.
  • Cloudflare: Used for image storage (R2), CDN delivery, and bot protection (Turnstile).
  • Law enforcement: When required by UAE law or a valid legal order.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data and listings for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for fraud prevention.

6. Your rights

Under applicable UAE and international privacy law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Object to certain processing activities.

7. Children

WheelBazar is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, store images in private Cloudflare R2 buckets, and use phone-based OTP authentication to prevent unauthorised access.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email if you have provided one. Continued use of WheelBazar after changes constitutes acceptance.
